Overview

Mencap is seeking Relief Support Workers to join our team in Darfield, Barnsley, supporting within a service and the community. As a Relief Support Worker, you\'ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to individuals with learning disabilities with daily activities and emotional support as needed.
  • Support may involve assisting with personal care, community activities, and promoting independence.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
  • All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

Contract & Shifts

  • Contract options: Relief/Bank Shifts
  • Shift times: Shifts vary between 07:00-23:00
  • Sleep-ins required — paid at an enhanced flat rate of £63.70.
