Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Prenton. As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you will play a vital role in their life.

We are looking for Support Workers to work with 2 Gentlemen in the Prenton area of Wirral who are affectionately known by their staff team as a pair of lively characters with “slap stick humour” who love each day. Both Gentlemen are bright and bubbly characters with an incredible sense of humour who are seeking a support team that can match their energy and zest for life.

A typical day would usually involve activities that can range from chilling in the hot tub, visiting the zoo, walking out in the community and local parks to letting off steam with a good old water fight. Both Gentlemen are non-verbal and use Makaton as a form of communication; that being said, both gents are able to communicate their needs effectively and the more time you spend with these guys the more you will be able to respond and adapt to their needs. They are both extraordinary Gentlemen who want to lead a fulfilled life with a support team who can make every day count.

This will be on a permanent part-time basis (20 hours per week). Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends – including wake nights, sleep-ins and bank holidays on a rota basis. Ideally, we are looking for Drivers but it is not essential.

Shift times: Days: Between 07:00-22:00 OR 10:00-16:00 or 16:00-22:00 or 08:00-22:00. There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of ÂŁ63.70 to cover holidays and sickness. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
