Mencap NI Youth are recruiting a full-time Youth Worker to deliver our Empower to Transform project across the wider Omagh area. Are you passionate about helping young people realise their potential? Supported through PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), Mencap NI Youth is recruiting enthusiastic, motivated and committed Youth Workers to join our Empower to Transform (E2T) team. Empower to Transform is an exciting PEACEPLUS programme designed to support young people aged 14-24 to:
- Develop confidence, resilience and independence
- Build positive relationships with people from different backgrounds
- Strengthen employability and leadership skills
- Become active citizens within their communities
- Achieve positive personal progression and fulfil their potential
As part of this innovative programme, you will help create safe, inclusive and engaging opportunities that support young people to have their voices heard, develop new experiences and make a meaningful contribution to society.
As a Youth Worker, you will:
- Deliver creative and engaging youth work programmes and activities
- Support young people to achieve their personal goals and aspirations
- Promote inclusion, participation and co-production
- Build young people's confidence, skills and independence
- Foster positive relationships and good relations across communities
- Act as a positive role model, mentor and advocate for young people
