Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Male Support Workers to join our incredible team in Omagh. Driver Required. Please Note:Whilst Mencap is a licenced sponsor, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this vacancy at present due to a high volume of internal staff going through the sponsorship process. As a Male Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, youll play a vital role in their life. What we're looking for: Someone who is caring and patient and has a genuine passion for supporting others. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities. Supporting people with their finances (paying bills, doing shopping etc.) You will actively be reducing social isolation by supporting to social groups & activities. Supporting with Personal care – helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and to use the bathroom. Using Positive Behaviour Support Strategies to help improve peoples quality of life, provide trauma-informed support, and manage emotionally intense situations. This role requires you to be a driver with a full clean driving licence. Shift times: All our services are 24hr care.We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life! Days: Between 07:00-23:00AND Sleep-ins: 23:00-07:00 There is also a sleep-in availablewhere you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45. *All roles are subject to an enhanced disclosure check (Access NI Code of Practice and Policy on Rehabilitation of offenders available on request), and registration with NISCC and suitable references. *Due to the nature of this service, we are looking for male only applicants.? This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
