This is a full time, fixed term position until April 2027.

About the Programme

As part of this programme, you will work alongside our retail team to support volunteers from Mencap charity shops with a learning disability, helping them to develop skills, build confidence and progress into their next steps whether that’s paid work, further volunteering or training opportunities. You will work closely with participants, employers, families and local stakeholders to deliver a high-impact programme that creates real and lasting change.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a caseload of participants (retail volunteers with a learning disability), providing tailored, person-centred employment support
  • Deliver vocational profiling, job-matching and ongoing in-work support
  • Build and maintain strong employer partnerships across Liverpool & Greater Manchester, including with twinned Chopstix restaurants
  • Generate referrals through local networks, community organisations and Jobcentre Plus
  • Deliver employability workshops and 1:1 interventions
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping, progress tracking and reporting

What You Will Bring

  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm and a passion for improving people’s lives
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with participants, employers and partners
  • Experience supporting individuals in a workplace, community or educational setting
  • Experience managing a caseload and working towards targets
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred employment support
  • A background in supported employment is helpful, but not essential; we’re looking for the right values, drive and willingness to learn.
