As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred care to help individuals live happy, independent, and fulfilling lives. Every person we support is unique, so no two days are the same.
You will be supporting people with everyday tasks around the home such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, sorting out post and other household responsibilities, helping them build confidence in their daily lives along the way. Some individuals may also require support with personal care, medication, and manual handling, so compassion, dignity, and respect are vital in this role.
Part of your role is to be involved in supporting people access the community, which may include visits to see family and friends, going out for lunch, enjoying shopping trips and visits to local garden centres, or taking part in hobbies and interests such as football and wrestling. We also support individuals to socialise at local community hubs, attend arts and crafts groups, celebrate birthdays and holidays together at the service, and support with volunteer work.
Shift patterns vary, so flexibility is essential for this role. You will need to be able to work a range of shifts across 7 days a week on a rota basis, including weekends. Sleep-ins are also a requirement of this role. This is a rewarding role where you can build meaningful relationships, support people to achieve their goals, and make a positive impact every single day.
