Join our team at Mencap in Gainsborough as a Support Worker and make a real difference in the lives of people with a learning disability. As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred care to help individuals live happy, independent, and fulfilling lives. Every person we support is unique, so no two days are the same.

You will be supporting people with everyday tasks around the home such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, sorting out post and other household responsibilities, helping them build confidence in their daily lives along the way. Some individuals may also require support with personal care, medication, and manual handling, so compassion, dignity, and respect are vital in this role.

Part of your role is to be involved in supporting people access the community, this may be a visit to see family and friends, go out for lunch, enjoy shopping trips and visits to local garden centres, or take part in hobbies and interests such as football and wrestling. We also support individuals to socialise at local community hubs, attend arts and crafts groups, celebrate birthdays and holidays together at the service, and support with volunteer work.

Shift patterns vary, so flexibility is essential for this role. You will need to be able to work a range of shifts across 7 days a week on a rota basis, including weekends.
