Mencap is seeking passionate Female Support Workers to join our incredible team in Leeds – LS17. As a Female Support Worker, you will make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities, working with a diverse group of people and providing daily activities, emotional support and goal‑setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily activities, personal care and medication support.
- Provide emotional support and build meaningful relationships with individuals.
- Encourage independence through activities such as volunteering, travel training, gym, baking, swimming, gardening and shopping.
- Promote person centred support, encouraging simple actions (e.g., opening curtains) to improve their day.
- Act as a driver where required, using a mobility car to transport individuals and travel to local bus routes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Genuine passion for supporting others with learning disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Positive, empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Contract Options
- Full‑time: 37.5 hours/week
- Part‑time (hours to be agreed)
Shift Times
- Days: 07:00‑10:00
- Waking Nights: 10:00‑07:00 (sleep‑in available with enhanced flat rate payment)
