Mencap is seeking a passionate Full time Support Worker to join our incredible team in Leeds LS17. As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you'll play a vital role in their life.
We support people to achieve their goals and aspirations, some examples of what has been achieved include becoming a volunteer, attending an employment course, travel training, working with animals, going to the gym, baking & cooking, going swimming, gardening, and going to the shop alone for the first time. Getting people involved in every aspect of their support is key to a happy and fulfilled life, so you will need to be always encouraging and positive and person-centred about promoting this.
Some of the people we support have mobility cars, so being a driver is definitely an asset. The house is near to local bus routes, getting to and from work should not be a problem. This year, people we support have been able to go on holiday, thanks to the commitment and efforts of the fantastic team you may be joining.
What we're looking for:

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- It is essential that any applicant for this role is a driver - with a full UK Driving Licence.
Contract options:
- 1 x Full time 37.5 Hours Support Worker (Male or Female) MUST be a driver!
Shift times:
- All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
- Days: Between 07:00-10:00
- Waking Nights: 10:00-07:00
- There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £64.20.
