We are recruiting for a new Head of Housing Management to join us on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term basis. This role will be home-based with regular travel across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Team meetings will be held in Peterborough or Birmingham.

Mencap delivers Housing Management services to approximately 750 tenants in 250 properties across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Following an external review of the Housing Management function, we are seeking an individual to lead a transformation project, with experience in process improvement and delivering high-quality services to tenants.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading and transforming the housing function at Mencap, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  2. Planning and delivering the transformation, defining and achieving financial and non-financial objectives.
  3. Reviewing current processes and policies to identify gaps and implement improvements.
  4. Collaborating with other departments and senior leaders.
  5. Developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance service delivery and expand services.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in a \’Head of\’ role within a Local Authority or Social Housing environment.
  • Leadership experience in housing management within a large, complex organization.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management, and social housing regulations.
  • Ability to analyze performance data and make strategic decisions.
  • Proven track record of planning and delivering housing management transformation projects.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to motivate teams and drive improvements.
  • Chartered Institute of Housing Professional Qualification Level 5 or equivalent (desirable).
