Are you an experienced advice professional who enjoys supporting others to do their best work? Do you have experience managing caseworkers within an advice service and feel confident delivering and overseeing advice remotely? The Learning Disability Helpline (England) is looking for a Learning Disability Caseworker Team Manager to lead and support a team providing high-quality, complex advice. This includes safeguarding, health, community care, benefits, housing and SEND. Our service supports people with a learning disability, their families, carers and others, and is delivered both remotely and within community settings across England.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent role. You will primarily work from home, with the option to use Mencap offices. Occasional travel to Mencap sites and events, as well as some flexibility in working hours, will be required.
- Experience managing complex casework, including identifying and managing safeguarding concerns and challenging cases
- Confidence handling complaints and investigating issues sensitively and thoroughly
- Experience working with people with a learning disability, or within education, health or social care settings
- The ability to interpret data and work confidently with CRM systems
- Relevant qualifications in advice or an advice-related area such as housing, benefits, community care or SEND
- Experience supporting a remote team with varied working styles and levels of experience
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to balance long-term projects alongside fast-paced priorities
- Confidence using call handling systems, CRM platforms and Microsoft-based software
- Experience leading on safeguarding for both adults and children
