Do you have a passion for volunteering and making a difference in local communities? Would you like to support volunteers to thrive while helping raise vital funds for people with a learning disability? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated individual to join Mencap as a Retail Volunteering Coordinator.

In this role, you will support and develop volunteering across our retail network within your region, working closely with shop managers and teams to create positive, inclusive and rewarding volunteer experiences.

As a Retail Volunteering Coordinator, you will:

  • Support all aspects of the volunteer journey across our retail shops and services within your region.
  • Work closely with retail teams and shop managers across your region to understand volunteering needs and provide tailored support.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, induction and retention of volunteers across Mencap retail shops.
  • Help create positive and inclusive volunteer experiences that encourage volunteers to feel valued, supported and connected.
  • Promote volunteering opportunities locally and nationally to help grow volunteer numbers across the retail network.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Volunteering Team on national projects and continuous improvement work.
  • Help ensure volunteering practices remain safe, inclusive and aligned with Mencap values and policies.

You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills and be confident working with a range of stakeholders across different locations. A passion for inclusion and community engagement is essential, alongside an understanding of the importance volunteers play in supporting Mencap's mission. An understanding of the needs and rights of people with a learning disability would be beneficial.
