Deputy Club Leader for Side by Side Club - Saffron Walden Mencap Society. Saffron Walden Mencap Society is an organisation based in Saffron Walden who are committed to enriching the lives of people with learning disabilities and their families. We are passionate about providing a diverse range of social clubs, outdoor activities, and community events that promote independence and friendship. We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Deputy Club Leader.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in strengthening the leadership of our popular 'Side by Side' social club, acting as the "second-in-command" to facilitate a stimulating and inclusive environment where members can socialise and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:- Deputising - Taking full responsibility for the session and managing the team in the Club Leader's absence.
- Activity Support - Assisting in the delivery of a social programme that meets the varying needs of members aged 18+.
- Compliance - Ensuring all statutory requirements and Society policies are met during every session.
- Partnership - Building supportive relationships with members, their families, and carers.
- Session Management - Helping to manage weekly sessions (Wednesday evenings, 6:15 pm - 8:45 pm) to ensure they remain welcoming spaces for all.
