An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to join our Barnsley Services on a permanent, full‑time basis (37.5 hours per week). We are looking for an experienced manager to lead a team of support workers and oversee three services in Barnsley. You will bring strong experience supporting people with complex needs and working with families and partner agencies to create effective support plans. Your leadership will help each person live a happy, fulfilled life in their community.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the service is fully compliant
  • Practice Management
  • Observing staff to ensure high standards are continuously met
  • Ensure all Health & Safety regulations are met
  • Liaising with the families and other stakeholders of the people we support
  • Ensuring the continuous development of the team
  • Strong leadership is key to the success of our services

As part of the role, you will report to the Area Operations Manager and be responsible for developing and managing your team, ensuring high‑quality service delivery. You will be self‑motivated, confident under pressure, and able to make tough decisions when needed. Strong relationship‑building skills are essential. You will act as a positive role model, support your team, and maintain a high standard of practice.

Qualifications

  • Experience in social care—particularly with autism, mental health, and behaviours that challenge
  • Experience leading Learning Disability teams is essential
  • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support is an advantage
  • IT competence is required
  • The role is flexible across a 7‑day rota, including some weekends, and you must be able to travel between sites
  • You may occasionally need to cover frontline support in emergencies
