Do you have experience of working with people with a learning disability? Or maybe you have experience within the education, supported employment or retail sector? Yes, then we may have the role for you. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and self-motivated Employment Connection Agent to join our Employ Me team in Congleton. This role is part-time (20 hours per week) and on a fixed term contract till March, based from our Congleton retail store.
We are looking for individuals who can work on their own initiative, have good communication skills across all levels, interpersonal skills and be approachable. This is an exciting new role developed to work alongside our Retail team supporting retail volunteers with a learning disability to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours.
You will work collaboratively with Mencap's Retail and Volunteer team, local employers, Job Centre Plus and support agencies to support people individually to develop plans and activities which will take them closer to paid employment. As an Employment Connection Agent, you will develop a programme of delivery, supporting volunteers to develop their skills in the retail setting through job coaching and support to develop their employability skills through developing CVs, exploring ways to look for work and preparing for interviews.

- Experience of supporting people
- Experience of delivering against targets
- Knowledge of safe working practices
- Knowledge of employability sector
- A-C/9-4 English & Maths GCSE (or equivalent)
- Good ICT skills
- Effective Communicator
- Effective record keeping and reporting
