Do you have experience in supporting people? Do you know how to deliver a range of community activities? Yes, great then we may have the role for you. A fantastic and highly rewarding opportunity has arisen for a 22.5 hour Community Inclusion Facilitator to join our enthusiastic and passionate colleagues in Nottingham. This role will be fixed term contract for 12 months.

Me Time is Mencap’s social inclusion, leisure and community led programme, supporting people with a learning disability to develop the skills and confidence to develop relationships and be fully included in their local community. Me Time provides a range of support for individuals to do this, through the direct provision of a range of community activities as well as support to access community groups and local opportunities.

As a Community Inclusion Facilitator you will be a valued colleague within a team, you will be flexible and committed to supporting people. Your role is responsible for developing and offering a range of responsive direct individual and group activities to people with a learning disability accessing the Me Time Programme.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a way that enables the people being supported to make decisions and choices and encourage trying new opportunities in line with the life each person chooses to lead.
  • Ensure the plans we put in place for the people we support are person centred and the person is fully involved in all aspect of the planning and review process.
  • Being able to be creative, dynamic, and adaptable to potential challenging scenarios in relation to the needs of the people we support.
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of people being supported, monitor each person's progress and report on the impact that the programme has on the lives of people.
  • Complete all recording requirements in a timely manner and ensure high quality reporting and case studies.
  • Communicate with the people being supported with dignity and respect.
  • To be part of a team, supporting colleagues to build community networks, sharing contacts and connections.
  • Raise concerns using the appropriate channels, particularly in relation to safeguarding.
  • Be flexible and can work from different locations and projects within the community.

The Me Time model is person centred and focused on improving quality of life for the people engaged on the programme as well as providing pathways to other opportunities, for example volunteering or employment.
