Watford Mencap provides support and services to people with learning disabilities and their families in Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere. We are seeking motivated and compassionate individuals to join our team as a Volunteer Befriender. The successful candidates will play a crucial role to enable people with learning disabilities and their families to make the most of life.
As a befriender, your skills, personality and location will be matched appropriately to an individual that has requested support on a one-to-one basis. Every individual has different needs and therefore the person you visit might like to do a range of different activities.
DBS will be required and arranged by Watford Mencap. Expenses will be paid. Learning Disability awareness and Safeguarding Training will be provided, as well as any other identified training needs.
As a Mencap volunteer visitor you will be:

As a Mencap visitor you will:
