Royal Mencap Society has a fantastic opportunity for experienced and professional Area Administrator(s) to join our team in West Sussex and London. We are looking for 2 people who hold the same values as Mencap and can provide day-to-day administrative support to our operational teams. These are part-time positions. We are looking for colleagues who can work 9.00am to 5.00pm, 30 hours per week (4 days). The West Sussex role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, while the London role is permanent.

You will be a self-starter with enthusiasm for developing digital ways of working. The roles are home-based, with occasional travel to local offices and meetings. We offer a supportive, collaborative working environment where colleagues help one another to succeed.

This is a varied administrative role, supporting Service Managers and Area Operations Managers who oversee services for people with a learning disability. In doing so, you will play an important part in helping our teams deliver excellent support to the people we support.

You will help monitor and support key business processes, liaise with our HR, Payroll, Training, IT and Resourcing teams. The role includes coordinating recruitment and onboarding, taking hearing minutes, maintaining and reporting on data, and supporting digital projects aligned with the organisation's key priorities.

You will be able to demonstrate experience of working accurately and to deadlines in a busy, fast-paced administrative role and you will enjoy the variety and pace that comes with it. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Flexible in your approach, you will be confident managing multiple tasks, prioritising effectively and delivering a high-quality, professional service to support the management team.

You will have advanced computing skills in Microsoft Office packages and SharePoint.

  • Proven administration experience (12 years)
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Experience drafting letters and reports in line with company policy
  • Experience supporting a management team (or equivalent)
  • Accurate minute-taking and verbal dictation skills
  • Willing and able to travel occasionally within West Sussex or London
