The Medical Advisor will be a key member of the Medical Affairs team, acting as the scientific expert for our cardiovascular and lipid portfolio. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver impactful scientific exchange, generate valuable medical insights, and contribute to the development and execution of the medical strategy.

The Medical Advisor will serve as a trusted scientific partner to healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and cross-functional teams, ensuring that all activities are conducted in line with regulatory requirements and the highest ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all medical activities are compliant with industry regulations (e.g., ABPI), ethical standards, and company policies, ensuring non-promotional scientific exchange.
  • Final signatory responsibilities: Act as a final signatory for medical and promotional materials, certifying compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice and PMCPA regulations.
  • Operational Management: Oversee medical budgets, resource allocation, and performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Insight Generation: Analyse field insights collected by the team to identify gaps in clinical knowledge, competitive intelligence, and opportunities to inform company strategy.
  • Scientific Partnership & Engagement: Build and maintain peer-to-peer scientific relationships with healthcare professionals, NHS stakeholders, KOLs, and clinical experts in CVRM and lipid management, serving as a trusted source of scientific information, supporting the team in handling complex stakeholder interactions.
  • Evidence-Based Dialogue: Lead scientific discussions on emerging data, guidelines, and real-world evidence relevant to Menarini's CVRM and lipid portfolio. Present complex data in a clear, clinically relevant manner.
  • Support for Company sponsored/Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs): Identify and facilitate opportunities for company sponsored/IITs that align with strategic objectives and contribute to clinical understanding of Menarini's CVRM portfolio.
  • Medical Information & Education: Respond to unsolicited medical enquiries and support the delivery of scientific content in line with regulatory requirements and company policies. Provide internal and external training on therapy areas and data.
  • Strategic Internal Collaboration: Act as the medical voice in cross-functional teams, contributing to brand strategy, market access planning, and HCP engagement initiatives.
  • Congress & Meeting Support: Represent Menarini at key scientific congresses and symposia. Support the planning and execution of advisory boards, scientific events, and HCP engagement activities and the ability to lead in scientific exchange meetings.
Qualifications:
  • Essential: Medical degree (MD), Pharmacy degree, PhD or equivalent scientific qualification.
  • Clinical background in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine or a related therapeutic area.
  • Strong understanding of cardiovascular risk management (CVRM) and current treatment guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific and clinical data.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally.
  • Desirable: Previous Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • ABPI Final Signatory status (or working towards certification).
  • Experience engaging with KOLs and healthcare professionals.
  • Experience supporting clinical research or investigator-initiated studies.
