Description of the assignment: As a talented undergraduate, you'll appreciate the opportunity to apply your talents to projects that will provide you with the kind of challenges your skills deserve. This exciting technical placement offers you the perfect opportunity to apply your skills to real-world projects that challenge and develop your potential. You’ll receive hands-on training and the chance to build a rewarding career in construction, working on projects that span the entire contract lifecycle—from pre-contract estimating and design, through to mobilisation, site works, and contract completion. You will be based with the Operations team, working in a hybrid format (office + field), where you'll support various phases of project delivery. This role offers the exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience and directly apply your theoretical knowledge to real-world projects. The primary goal of this placement is to give you a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of ground improvement in real-world projects while providing a safe and supportive environment for you to grow and develop as an engineer.

Key Tasks:

  • Oversee the on-site management of projects, ensuring the technical, administrative, and commercial aspects are executed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Lead and manage the performance of ground improvement projects, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure that designs meet Works Procedures and are aligned with project requirements.
  • Assist in preparing designs and cost estimates in accordance with Menard’s technical requirements.
  • Take responsibility for contract administration, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Stay informed of the latest technological advancements and design developments, incorporating them into projects and ongoing professional development.
  • Ensure that all site activities are carried out safely, meeting regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
