Key tasks and responsibilities

Video Editing

In this role, you'll edit a broad range of content, from interviews and promos to event highlights and branded social videos. Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro is essential, and experience with DaVinci Resolve or Lumetri Colour for grading is a real plus. You'll adapt edits for different platforms and briefs, collaborate with videographers, motion designers and clients to ensure a smooth, high-quality workflow, and handle data with care, following established procedures and naming conventions. You should be able to craft engaging stories on a range of platforms, primarily in Premiere Pro, including versioning for different aspect ratios. Managing your time and meeting deadlines is crucial. You'll work closely with other editors, videographers, and motion graphics artists to ensure the smooth running of each project. Staying updated with best practices and technical specifications on social platforms is expected. Knowledge of colour correction and grading (Lumetri Colour or DaVinci Resolve), audio mixing for interviews, and sound design is important. You'll need to remain inside brand guidelines and work to briefs, as well as adapt editing styles to different types of content and client needs. Handling data correctly, including following procedures and naming conventions, is essential. You should be able to think outside the box and explore new creative editing styles, take direction well, and also work independently to make sound editorial choices.

Motion Graphics

Whilst it's not your primary role, having motion graphics (After Effects) knowledge is essential as you will be required to use and create motion graphics within edits. This can include, but is not limited to animated logos, lower thirds, infographics and titles. As with editing, you will need to be able to follow briefs and remain inside brand guidelines. Knowledge of other Adobe Creative Cloud software, such as Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign etc is beneficial.

Creative

We strive to create new approaches and fresh ideas, so having an interest in growing and developing your skills is really important. We invest in our employees that want to progress their careers and learn new skills, whether it's expanding knowledge into things such as 3D Modelling. We will invest the time and resources to allow you to grow your skillset. There is no pre-set mould of what we are looking for. It's about your creativity, expertise, strengths, competence, and personality - it's about how you fit into an ambitious and charismatic team. Don't worry if you don't have a degree or an extensive CV your showreel/portfolio is what will make you shine, we like experience but also value fresh ideas.

We are based in Roade, Northampton but work where we are needed, including abroad (this is rare for an editor), so flexibility and agility are valuable assets too. Your primary place of work will be our head office in Roade, Northampton. It is essential that you're able to travel to and work from our office, this is not a hybrid/remote position. A full UK driving licence is required, and you must own a vehicle to commute (our office is not accessible by foot or public transport).

Communication

The applicant must be comfortable communicating effectively with clients via both emails and calls. Excellent customer service, communication and client interaction, during all phases of production is absolutely essential.

Social Media

At Menace Media, we create a lot of our own content, be it behind the scenes breakdowns, vlogs, adverts and more. It's not essential to be talking/presenting on camera, but you will likely feature in our videos from time to time and need to be comfortable with this.
