A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Client Relations Manager to join its London Marketing team.
Key accounts. No pitches. No sales.
This is a relationship management role, not a business development one. You will own a portfolio of the firm's most important client accounts, working directly with partners to build and deliver annual client plans, spot where the relationship can grow, and make sure the right lawyers are in the room at the right time.
What it is not: pitching, proposals, or anything client-facing. The proposals team does that. You will work alongside them, including pricing, accounting, and DEI, but your focus will be the strategy behind the account.
The clients are mostly US-headquartered, with a meaningful EMEA book, so you will need a genuine feel for what is happening in the legal market on both sides of the Atlantic.
The team is global (New York, Boston, California, London); the role reports to New York, and a coordinator supports the team so you can focus on the accounts.
Who they want:
- Already operating at manager level in key account or client relationship management. This is a lateral move, not a step up.
- Law firm background preferred. Strong consulting firm experience will be considered.
- Self-directed, comfortable with senior stakeholders, and fluent in Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field; MBA advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in professional services marketing, business development, or client relationship management, ideally within a law firm.
- Experience supporting key client accounts, client targeting, or business growth initiatives.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proactive, commercially minded, and able to demonstrate strong initiative.
- Highly collaborative and able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines while delivering high-quality work.
- Applicants must be based in London, United Kingdom
Highly competitive salary on offer.
