Title: Service & Maintenance Engineer
Location: Alfreton, Derby
Salary: Competitive rates of pay + overtime + benefits + company van
Duration: Full time, permanent
Hours: Shift pattern 5 days on, 3 days off, average 39.5 hours per week.
Shift: 7:30 am to 5 pm (plus call‑out) and overtime.

About you
You will have knowledge and at least two years’ experience of mechanical or electrical engineering. You must hold a full driving licence, travel as required, and possess excellent communication skills, a strong work ethos, and be physically fit.

Undertake all aspects of generator maintenance and repair both on‑site and in the field, as well as proactive and reactive maintenance.

Key responsibilities
- Generator service and maintenance
- Reactive repairs
- Preventive maintenance
- Fault finding, diagnosis and rectification
- Testing and inspection of equipment
- Preparation of project‑specific rental applications
- Generator baby‑sitting
- Maintain all rental equipment ensuring safety and fit for purpose
- Commissioning
- Assist in installing and de‑installing equipment
- Work on research and development of new mechanical products
- Maintain high standards of good housekeeping at all times
During your initial training period, you will be part of the call‑out rota, working with and assisting the team to develop your skills and knowledge within the business and generator industry. As an engineer you will be on call to support the business, maintaining a true 24/7 operation.

Working outside normal hours is a requirement, with overtime paid at the prevailing rate.
