Location: Gillingham, Kent

Duration: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: Good basic salary + overtime + company van + excellent benefits. Realistic OTE around £80,000 per year.

Hours: Rolling rota (5 days on, 3 days off), average 39.5 hrs per week. Shift is 7.30am to 5pm plus overtime opportunities and call-out duties.

About us: MEMS Power Generation is the leading generator rental supplier in the UK, specialising in sustainable temporary power solutions with nearly 50 years of experience. Operating 24/7, they supply temporary power solutions for a diverse range of customers, including small businesses through to blue-chip multinational organisations and utility companies.

About you: We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused electrician with experience working within industrial and commercial environments. Previous generator experience is not required as full training will be provided.

  • Hold a Gold ECS Card or be working towards obtaining one
  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation, Electrotechnical Services, or have completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship
  • Hold the 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (or equivalent)
  • Possess a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel as required
  • Demonstrate excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
  • Be organised, self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team
  • Have strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service

Key responsibilities:

  • Installing temporary generator systems and associated electrical equipment
  • Connecting temporary power supplies into customer electrical installations safely and efficiently
  • Testing, inspecting and certifying electrical distribution equipment
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs across the generator fleet
  • Maintaining and repairing cables and associated equipment
  • Supporting and mentoring apprentices and new team members
  • Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota for servicing and emergency repairs
  • Assisting the sales team with project pricing and technical support
