Responsibilities include performing complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners, power injectors, and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. The role involves:
- Positioning patients for CT scans using patient positioning devices and protective equipment as necessary.
- Performing all exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols agreed with the Radiologist.
- Assisting the radiologist with routine and interventional CT procedures.
- Evaluating CT scans for technical quality, collating processed images in sequence of exposure, and labelling appropriately.
- Filming/transmitting to the Image Archival System.
- Dispensing and/or ordering oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
- Demonstrating proficiency in IV placement for contrast administration and safe IV contrast administration.
- Demonstrating proficiency and advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures, including X-ray and Fluoroscopy, with C-arm, and OR work.
- Practicing radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
- Operating equipment consistently with the manufacturer's recommendations.
- Troubleshooting equipment problems and independently calling a service engineer if the malfunction needs outside maintenance.
- Maintaining accurate patient records in EHR, including charging procedures and supplies.
- Assisting with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
- Training or cross-training imaging staff members as directed.
- Ordering, stocking, and maintaining supply inventory.

- Reporting to work punctually and completing assigned duties within established timeframes.
- Actively contributing to departmental and organization-wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies.
- Following all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver's license).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
Education, Licensure(s), And Certification(s):
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R), including Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire or transfer).
Experience:
- Two (2) years prior experience as a practicing CT Technologist.
- Cross-trained into other modalities, including MRI, DEXA, and Mammography.
- Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS.
