Compensation: $18.41 to $25.69 hourly, paid bi-weekly.

Essential Functions And Basic Duties:
- Demonstrates competence necessary to assemble, clean, maintain, replace and inventory equipment and instruments.
- Demonstrates competence in preparing and cleaning of surgical services area and OR suites before and between cases and after terminal case, based upon the patient’s infection class.
- Restocks supplies as assigned.
- Demonstrates responsibility for care of instruments/equipment, including cleaning and processing of instruments.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of instrument processing, sterilization, biological monitoring and chemical monitoring.
- Monitors and promotes a safe environment during care and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
- Performs all aspects of Sterile Processing and Central Services in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
- Assists the Surgical Services team to plan and evaluate procedural needs to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate appropriate supplies for procedures.
- Identifies barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations.
- Employs critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action.
- May precept new hires.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions).
- Must be able to legally work in the United States.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- Must complete employee health meeting.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year experience as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred.
