Responsibilities:
- Record patient’s current status, past medical history, vaccine status, vital statistics, and medication reconciliation in preparation for provider visit in the EMR.
- Respect confidentiality of patient records and use discretion when discussing patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
- Utilize all department forms and documents in EMRs appropriately.
- Collect, label, and transport all specimens appropriately.
- Demonstrate proper techniques when preparing for procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of emergencies, routine equipment, and procedures.
- Collaborate with patient care planning, including actively participating in education specific to patient diagnosis and needs.
- Assist providers with special tests and procedures.
- Demonstrate ability to start IVs and monitor IV fluids for the correct rate.
- Assess every patient for safety, medication dosage appropriateness, and other needs.
- Accurately administer medications and perform treatments in accordance with standards of care.
- Translate medications into pediatric doses and use proper equipment for the patient’s size and age.
- Identify victims and the process for reporting abuse.
- Maintain compliance within the department and clinic, as well as within state and federal regulations and policies.
- Utilize proper phone etiquette to record all phone interactions with patients in the EMR.
- Properly care for instruments, i.e., cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing as appropriate.
- Participate in mandatory in-services and attend staff meetings.
- Follow MRH policy and procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of emergency preparedness and participate in drills.
- Act as a resource person to other staff members.
- Act as a positive and supportive team member to staff members and other departments within the organization.
- Participate in process improvement teams or in interdepartmental efforts.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, providers, and staff.
- Complete workload as assigned.
- Float to other clinical departments as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
Education and Certifications:
- Current and active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact license. (Required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire). (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field. (Preferred)
Experience:
- One (1) year of clinic experience. (Preferred)
