Compensation Range:

  • $24.07 TO $36.11 – Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
  • $30.75 TO $46.13 – Licensed Practical Nurse
  • $33.58 TO $50.38 – Registered Nurse

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Supervisory‑Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Medical Practice Clinic Manager in the operational management of the assigned clinic(s)/department(s) by conducting the following:
  • Provides direction, serves as a resource, and acts as a role model for staff to ensure comprehensive and safe patient care.
  • Assists clinic leadership in establishing unit‑specific goals, determining work procedures, and expediting workflow.
  • Assists clinic leadership in providing feedback for performance evaluations and fostering professional growth.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Assists with staff scheduling and daily assignment coordination of all assigned clinic(s)/department(s).
  • Tracks staff leave coverage and ensures appropriate staffing coverage during leave requests.
  • Serves as the clinical resource for staff within the scope of training and credentials, ensuring efficient and safe delivery of care.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and teamwork by willingly filling in as needed to support operations and ensure continuity of services, while effectively balancing the additional responsibilities and strategic demands of the role.
  • Trains new clinical staff and supports cross‑training of existing staff.
  • Promotes teamwork and collaborations within and across clinic departments.
  • Acts as a mentor and clinical resource for staff in patient assessment, care planning, interventions, and problem‑solving.
  • Participates in mandatory in‑services and attends staff meetings.
  • Participates in process‑improvement and interdepartmental initiatives.
  • Serves as the main point of contact when situations arise.

Position‑Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Performs Vaccine for Children (VFC) responsibilities as follows:
  • Performs monthly vaccine inventory; organizes storage units, removes expiring doses, and accounts for wasted, returned, and transferred vaccines.
  • Ensures safe storage and temperature control, including twice‑daily monitoring, calibrated data loggers, and immediate response to excursions.
  • Maintains all VFC documentation and temperature logs; ensures compliance with program standards and staff adherence to policies.
  • Creates and distributes vaccine education materials and keeps staff informed of immunization requirements.
  • Collaborates with clinic leaders, pharmacy, and departments to meet VFC requirements.
  • Initiates and/or assists with any reporting to Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) when necessary (i.e., planned and unplanned vaccine transports).
  • Ensures all new hires complete VFC training within 30 days and annually thereafter.
  • Ensures all VFC‑related storage, handling, documentation, monitoring, reporting, training, and compliance requirements are fully met across all assigned clinic(s)/department(s).
  • Ensures patients are scheduled correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures clinical flow is efficient and supports achievement of target patient volumes.
  • Ensures appropriate sterilization of instruments and training/oversight of staff performing sterilization and transport to central sterilization.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergencies and routine equipment and procedures.
  • Ensures a high standard of customer service and addresses patient concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Promotes a teamwork‑based, patient‑centered culture. Oversees patient flow, scheduling, and access to care, ensuring minimal wait times and seamless transitions.
  • Collaborates with providers and staff to enhance patient satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Adheres to and maintains established policies and procedures for the assigned clinic(s)/department(s).
  • Supports compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) standards.
  • Assists with quality and safety activities such as chart reviews, audits, or data collection as directed.
  • Helps identify potential safety concerns and promptly reports them to leadership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Completes all required annual education, training, in‑services, and licensure/certification updates; actively participates in departmental and organizational meetings or reviews meeting minutes as required.
    • Maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times.
    • Reports to work punctually and completes assigned duties within established timeframes.
    • Actively contributes to departmental and organization‑wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
    • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies.
    • Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
    • Must successfully pass a background check.
    • Must successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
    • Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.

    EDUCATION, LICENSURE(S), AND CERTIFICATION(S):

    • Medical Assistant (MA) Requirements:
    • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Course.
    • Must be Registered or Certified as a Medical Assistant.
    • Current BLS Certification (or must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Requirements:
    • Completion of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing program.
    • Current Colorado Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Compact license.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire).
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements:
    • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    • Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact license.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire).
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience (for all levels):
    • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience, ideally with nursing and coordination or lead responsibilities in an outpatient setting.
