Role Description The Media QC Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Leighton Buzzard. This role is responsible for performing quality control checks on digitized and ingested media files to ensure they meet technical and content standards. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing audio and video for defects, verifying metadata accuracy, flagging issues for correction, and documenting QC results in internal systems. The Media QC Operator collaborates with production, engineering, and archive teams to resolve quality issues and maintain consistent workflows. The role also involves adhering to established QC processes, timelines, and industry best practices to support high-quality deliverables for clients.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot audio-visual issues such as dropouts, artifacts, sync problems, and format inconsistencies.
  • Experience working with media playback, QC tools, and file-based workflows (e.g., broadcast formats, codecs, and containers).
  • Familiarity with metadata standards, file naming conventions, and basic digital asset management principles.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to follow structured procedures and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills for documenting QC findings and collaborating with technical and production teams.
  • Comfort working in a technical environment and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and workflows.
  • Previous experience in media operations, post-production, broadcast, or archive management is an advantage.
  • Relevant education or training in media, film, broadcast technology, or a related field is beneficial.
