Your new role
As our Content Editor, you’ll take charge of overseeing and enhancing member-generated content to ensure it’s engaging, impactful, and aligned with our editorial strategy.
You’ll focus on editing and curating written articles to the highest standard, optimising them for readers and search engines alike. Working closely with the Head of Content and Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll be key in driving organic growth, using data and best practices to ensure our content performs brilliantly in search.
This role is perfect for someone who loves crafting clear, quality content and is excited by the power of SEO to help it reach the people who need it most.
This is a hybrid role, requiring both office-based and remote work.
What you’ll be doing
- Champion member content: Review, refine, and publish a high volume of written submissions - ensuring they meet our editorial standards, engage our audience, and support our members’ marketing.
- Curate strategically: Decide where and how content is featured across our platforms, using data insights to maximise reach and impact.
- Drive SEO success: Optimise articles for search engines and monitor their performance, implementing improvements to boost visibility and grow organic traffic. (Experience isn’t essential, but a genuine interest and curiosity about SEO is a must - we’ll support you to build your skills!)
- Guide and support members: Help members create unique, audience-focused content, offering constructive feedback and excellent customer service that earns glowing testimonials.
- Shape multimedia storytelling: Collaborate with members and our in-house videographer to produce engaging videos for our websites, social channels (including YouTube), and promotional campaigns.
- Maintain quality and efficiency: Streamline processes so we can move content from submission to publication more effectively, while ensuring every piece strengthens our website’s health.
- Collaborate and share knowledge: Work with our team to refine our content strategy, share ideas in workshops, and help us all stay ahead of trends in content and SEO.
What we’re looking for
- Solid experience editing and managing a high volume of written content.
- A sharp eye for detail, consistency, and quality - plus a flair for helping others tell their story.
- An interest (or budding passion) for SEO and how optimising content can help people discover the support they need.
- Confidence in making data-informed decisions about content placement and improvements.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with a drive to keep refining and improving processes.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence providing clear, supportive feedback to members, whether over email, on the phone, or in a video call, always delivering outstanding service.
Benefits
- Enjoy a 34-hour working week with flexible hours, including an early finish on Fridays.
- Competitive basic salary starting at £27,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Up to 5% employer pension contributions to secure your future.
- 32 days holiday (including UK public/bank holidays and end-of-year office closure), which increases annually up to 38 days.
- 2 volunteering days per year, plus an allowance to donate to charities you care about.
- Comprehensive Vitality Health Insurance for peace of mind.
- Access to therapy services because we care about your emotional wellbeing.
- A modern office with a fully stocked fridge and snacks to keep you refreshed.
- We celebrate your achievements with company-wide social events to mark milestones throughout the year.
