Our client, the Healthcare Infection Society (HIS), is a well-established membership organisation and registered charity, bringing together leading experts in infection prevention and control across the UK.
This is a senior role, reporting to the CEO and sitting on the SLT, with responsibility for shaping and delivering a high-quality, commercially sustainable education and events portfolio, alongside oversight of governance. HIS has recently strengthened its operational foundations and is now focused on growth, particularly through education as a core income stream.
The role offers the opportunity to bring sharper financial insight, innovation, and purpose to the events and learning programme, while maintaining strong, effective governance and trusted relationships with Trustees.
Key Responsibilities:- Education & Events Leadership
- Lead the development and delivery of a profitable, high-impact education portfolio
- Drive growth in income-generating events, including sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities
- Expand and diversify e-learning provision
- Introduce stronger financial planning and performance analysis across all events
- Ensure all activity is aligned to organisational priorities and delivers clear value
- Oversee governance processes, including Board and committee support and AGM delivery
- Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with Trustees and senior stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with charity governance and regulatory requirements
- Support activity across SIGs and associated organisations
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of 5 across events, digital learning and CRM
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver strategic objectives
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail, particularly in contracts and governance documentation
This is a key appointment for HIS as it looks to build a more commercially focused and sustainable future.
