The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama is looking for a proactive and hands-on Facilities Officer to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of its vibrant campus environment. This is a varied and practical role where you’ll support the operational running of the campus through building maintenance, health & safety compliance, security, room set-ups, porterage, and general facilities support across the school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out minor repairs and planned preventative maintenance
  • Supporting health & safety and compliance checks
  • Locking/unlocking buildings and responding to alarms
  • Preparing rooms for lectures, exams, performances and events
  • Supporting with furniture moves, deliveries and porterage
  • Assisting with fire safety procedures and emergency response
  • Working closely with contractors, staff and students to maintain a safe and welcoming campus environment

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Previous facilities, maintenance or building support experience
  • Good understanding of health & safety practices
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • A proactive and flexible approach
  • The ability to work independently and solve problems calmly and effectively

The role operates on a rolling shift rota (8-hour shifts between 07:30–23:30, Monday–Friday with occasional weekends).
