We are actively seeking a strategic Events and Membership Manager for an international membership organisation which fosters collaboration between its global members, key policymakers and stakeholders.
Our client is a small but growing membership organisation with representation at numerous policy forums and flagship industry events in the UK, Europe, and other continents. The role includes travelling to meet members and attending events both in the UK and Overseas. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in engaging, retaining, and recruiting members as well as leading on developing and delivering the annual events programme. The CEO recently joined and has ambitious, and achievable strategic aims for the organisation. We are looking for someone who can share, develop and deliver against the vision for sustainable growth. This role provides an exciting opportunity to join a small, enthusiastic and professional team.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Management:
- Build and oversee a comprehensive events programme that supports member engagement and growth.
- Plan, manage, and monitor individual event budgets, ensuring activities align with strategic goals and provide strong return on investment.
- Negotiate and oversee contracts and secure the best deals for event venues and services (appropriate in-house support is available).
Membership Growth & Engagement:
- Develop and implement a strategic 5-year plan to retain and recruit members.
- Benchmark current membership offering against similar organisations, identifying innovative initiatives to enhance value.
- Manage membership administration, including the membership database, communications, and onboarding processes.
- Establish effective feedback channels (e.g. surveys) to enhance the member experience and engagement.
Stakeholder & Organisational Support:
- Representative at industry events, fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the CEO as needed.
- Report on key metrics related to membership growth and event performance as part of the quarterly board reporting cycle.
