A leading UK trade association within the freight and logistics sector is looking for a proactive and media-savvy PR & Media Manager to elevate its voice across national, broadcast and trade media. Representing businesses at the heart of global trade, the organisation works closely with government, regulators and international partners, shaping industry conversations and supporting members through advocacy, events and communications. This is a hands-on, high-impact role combining media relations, content creation, digital communications and on-screen presentation. You’ll play a central role in positioning the organisation as the authoritative voice of the sector.
The Role
- Lead proactive PR activity while creating engaging content across multiple channels and supporting high-profile multimedia output.
- Build and manage strong relationships with journalists across national, trade and broadcast media.
- Secure high-quality media coverage for industry initiatives, policy positions, campaigns and events.
- Write press releases, statements, thought leadership articles and feature content.
- Identify and pitch compelling stories to raise industry profile.
- Create and manage B2B social media content, primarily on LinkedIn.
- Support integrated communications campaigns across PR, digital and events.
- Act as an on-screen presenter, interviewing industry experts and stakeholders.
- Write and prepare content for video segments and industry news features.
- Promote multimedia content through PR outreach and digital channels.
- Monitor media coverage and deliver insight and reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Act as a key point of contact for media enquiries and coordinate interviews.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure consistent and impactful messaging.
About You
- You’re a confident communicator with strong media instincts and the ability to create compelling content across platforms.
Essential
- Proven experience in PR, media relations or communications (ideally B2B).
- Strong track record of securing media coverage in trade and/or national press.
- Excellent writing skills across press, digital and social content.
- Experience managing LinkedIn or other B2B social media channels.
- Confident presenting on camera and interviewing stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using tools such as Hootsuite, Mailchimp, Canva or PR platforms.
- Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
Desirable
- Experience in logistics, transport, supply chain or a trade association.
- Understanding of policy or regulatory communications.
- Experience scripting or producing video content.
- Experience working in a membership organisation.
