A well‐established and highly regarded UK trade association within the freight and logistics sector is seeking a PR & Media Manager to raise its external profile and position the organisation as the leading voice within its industry. The organisation represents businesses across international freight and supply chain services, working closely with Government, regulators and global partners. It supports members through advocacy, training, events and communications.
This role is media‐focused, working alongside the digital communications and events team, and will also support audience reach and engagement of the organisation's TV and multimedia output, including on‐screen presentation and other high‐profile external initiatives. This is not an internal communications role – the focus is external media, PR strategy and proactive profile‐building.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists, trade publications, Government departments and industry media.
- Proactively secure coverage in national and trade press and broadcast media for initiatives, awards, conferences and policy positions.
- Write and distribute press releases, media statements, thought leadership pieces and articles.
- Support the organisation's TV and multimedia output by promoting interviews, features and news externally.
- Act as an on‐screen presenter, interviewing guests and representing the organisation publicly.
- Monitor media coverage and provide briefings and reporting to senior management and the communications team.
- Identify and pitch story ideas to raise the organisation's profile within the freight and logistics sector.
- Act as a media point of contact, responding to enquiries and arranging interviews with spokespeople.
- Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistent messaging across channels.
- Maintain a strong B2B social media presence on LinkedIn and actively engage with organisational channels and relevant audiences.
- Proven experience in media relations and PR, ideally within logistics, transport, trade associations or B2B environments.
- Strong network of journalist contacts in trade and national media.
- Track record of proactive profile‐raising and successful media campaigns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- On‐camera presenting and interviewing experience.
- Understanding of freight, logistics or transport sectors.
- Confident representing an organisation publicly, including interviews and media briefings.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience promoting multimedia content externally.
- Experience working within a trade association or member organisation.
- Knowledge of policy, trade regulations or industry trends.
- Highly proactive and media‐savvy.
- Excellent networking and relationship‐building skills.
- Confident, articulate and credible in public.
