Legal Adviser (Full-Time or Part-Time)

We're recruiting on behalf of a respected international membership organisation that represents businesses operating across the offshore marine and energy sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Adviser to support the Chief Executive and play a key role in delivering legal, contractual and regulatory initiatives that benefit a global membership.
The organisation is open to considering applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time working arrangements.
The Role
Working closely with senior leadership and a specialist legal committee, you'll help coordinate legal and regulatory activity, monitor industry developments and support the production of guidance, briefings and member communications. This is a varied, member-facing role offering excellent exposure to legal, commercial and regulatory issues within an international industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the day-to-day contact for a specialist legal and compliance committee.
- Coordinate committee meetings, agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking.
- Conduct legal, contractual and regulatory research across the offshore and maritime sectors.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, producing concise summaries and briefings.
- Support the preparation of consultation responses, guidance documents and industry resources.
- Build strong relationships with members, committee representatives and external stakeholders.
- Respond to member enquiries, escalating more complex issues where appropriate.
- Produce high-quality reports, presentations and briefing papers.
- Contribute to wider organisational projects and initiatives as required.
About You
We're looking for someone who can combine strong legal knowledge with excellent organisational and communication skills.
You'll have:
- A Law degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- Knowledge of the maritime or offshore energy sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft 365 applications.
The following would be advantageous:
- An interest in commercial contracts, compliance or regulatory affairs.
- Experience supporting committees or stakeholder groups.
- Experience producing legal briefings, reports or technical documentation.
- Membership of (or working towards membership of) a relevant professional body.
