A UK environmental charity is seeking a hands-on Accountant The organisation has diverse income streams, a strong membership base. This role will suit someone confident managing day-to-day finance operations while improving processes, controls and reporting.
The Role
- Lead month-end, journals, reconciliations and management accounts.
- Maintain continuity across payroll, payments, VAT, Gift Aid and membership income.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for departmental leads.
- Resolve TB/reconciliation issues and ensure audit readiness.
- Line manage a small finance team and act as a business partner across the charity.
- Strengthen systems and controls, including optimisation of Business Central.
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience across management accounts, statutory reporting and compliance.
- Confident user of Business Central or similar finance systems.
- Skilled in leading small teams and supporting non-finance colleagues.
- Highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable working independently.
- Part-qualified, qualified or qualified by experience.
- Charity sector experience (SORP, grants, restricted funds) desirable.
