Membership Bespoke is working with a leading UK membership body to recruit an Event Assistant. Our client supports a wide network of professionals and organisations through a programme of high-quality events, conferences and exhibitions, playing a key role in connecting its sector and sharing best practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior events professional looking to develop their career within a membership organisation, gaining hands-on experience across a varied and high-profile events portfolio.

Working closely with an experienced Head of Events, you will support the delivery of a flagship national exhibition attracting over 7,000 attendees, alongside a major conference and awards programme and a calendar of regional events. You will play a key role in speaker liaison, programme coordination and exhibitor management, acting as a central point of contact throughout the event lifecycle. The role offers exposure to a broad stakeholder base across sport, venues, manufacturing and the wider outdoor sector, with a clear pathway to take ownership of events as you develop.

Key responsibilities
  • Event delivery and coordination
  • Support the planning and delivery of exhibitions, conferences, awards and regional events
  • Act as a key point of contact for exhibitors, delegates and suppliers
  • Coordinate speakers, programmes, logistics and event materials
  • Provide on-site support, ensuring events run smoothly and professionally
Stakeholder and supplier management
  • Build effective relationships with internal teams, suppliers and external stakeholders
  • Support sponsor and exhibitor engagement to ensure a high-quality experience
  • Work with marketing teams to support event promotion and communications
Administration and reporting
  • Maintain accurate event data and support CRM processes
  • Assist with budgeting, expense tracking and reporting
  • Contribute to post-event evaluation and continuous improvement
About you
  • Experience in events, administration or a customer-facing role (or relevant qualification)
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with a desire to learn
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car
