Membership Development Manager (Maternity Cover) – London (hybrid, with UK travel). Start: ASAP. Duration: 12-14 Months FTC. Salary: Up to £42K.

Our client, a leading professional membership organisation, is seeking a Membership Development Manager to lead on recruitment, retention, and engagement activity. This is a key leadership role, managing the Membership and Subscriptions team and driving initiatives to grow and retain a diverse membership base.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver membership recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Build relationships with employers, education providers, and partners to grow awareness and engagement.
  • Oversee communications and marketing for membership and professional registration.
  • Lead on membership applications, onboarding, and the subscriptions process.
  • Manage a small team, providing leadership, support, and direction.
  • Support the Membership Committee and contribute to governance reporting.

About You

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in delivering campaigns, managing data/CRM systems, and improving member journeys.
  • Line management experience and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • A proactive, organised, and professional approach.

Experience in professional bodies, not-for-profits, or education/membership environments will be particularly valuable.
