Our client, a respected global governing, is seeking a Partnerships Manager.

Role Purpose

The Partnerships Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality engagement and growth, with all the institute’s Industry and Academic Partners/Members, ensuring strong value delivery and alignment with the institute’s strategic objectives.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver high-quality engagement with all Industry Partners, including (but not limited to) Corporate, Academic, and Knowledge Partners.
  • Consistently deliver value to partners as outlined in agreements, ensuring ongoing engagement and measurable impact.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of partner sectors, capabilities, and areas of interest to maximise strategic alignment and value proposition.
  • Work with Branches and Divisions to support the delivery of value to partners and individual members based locally, ensuring alignment with overall partnership objectives.
  • Act as the key point of contact for all existing partners, ensuring continuous and regular engagement with relevant opportunities across activities, including events, speaking opportunities, and collaboration projects.
  • Identify and approach new prospective partners, ensuring relevance to objectives and contributing to long‑term growth.
  • Support new branches and divisions in their establishment, growth and in adding value to members.
  • Support the Head of Events and Strategic Partnerships in triaging and delivering involvement in funded or research projects.
  • Work closely with the Events Manager to use events as a tool for partner value delivery, ensuring partners maximise benefits from events and supporting as a part of the wider events team.
  • Collaborate with the Events Manager to identify new partners via events and exhibitions, utilising attendance and sponsor lists for further engagement.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team to source and manage Media Partnerships, ensuring partners are informed of relevant opportunities and given priority involvement.
  • Assist the Senior Management Team in continuously developing and improving the Partnerships value offering to maintain relevance and impact.
  • Provide regular progress reports on strategic partnerships to the Head of Events and Strategic Partnerships.

Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience required

  • Relevant Degree Qualification with significant relevant experience in managing strategic partnerships or business development.
  • Industry experience within the membership market (maritime community - desirable).
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver partner value.
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and drive sales/conversions through providing stakeholder value.
  • Strong presentation skills – able to present/communicate clear messages and calls to action, to students and c‑suite alike.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple partner relationships simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM systems and data analytics to support partnership management and decision making.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive and confident self‑starter.
