Permanent, Part-Time (15 hours per week)

Our client, a prestigious set of chambers, is seeking a Senior HR and EDWI Specialist to provide expert guidance on HR and Equality, Diversity, Wellbeing and Inclusion (EDWI) matters.

If you have significant HR advisory experience, strong employment law knowledge, and a passion for building inclusive cultures — ideally gained within a professional services, legal, or chambers environment — we would love to hear from you.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and Strategic Planning, and working closely with the Head of Finance, this role provides expert HR and EDWI advice across chambers. You will support senior management on staff and member HR matters, oversee key people processes, and lead initiatives that strengthen equality, diversity and wellbeing across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise the Director of Operations, Head of Finance, and Senior Management Team on all HR and employee relations matters.
  • Support managers with recruitment, performance management, capability, absence, grievance and disciplinary issues.
  • Lead on HR administration including contracts, offer letters, right-to-work checks, and onboarding/offboarding.
  • Regularly review and update people policies, procedures, and the Staff Handbook.
  • Develop and deliver staff training programmes on HR and EDWI topics.
  • Oversee the staff appraisal process and support ongoing professional development.
  • Manage the Employee Assistance Programme and provide concise HR reports to senior management.
  • Deliver initiatives to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion across chambers.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on all EDWI matters, embedding inclusive values into people processes.
  • Lead on data collection, analysis and reporting of EDWI metrics.
  • Manage Disability Confident compliance and support working groups focused on race equality and disability.
  • Support safeguarding measures and ensure appropriate actions are taken when required.
Person Specification
  • Chartered FCIPD or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant HR management experience within a complex organisation.
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of employment law and best practice.
  • Proven experience as an HR business partner or senior advisor.
  • Track record of promoting EDI and managing change initiatives.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills.
  • Experience in the legal or chambers environment.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and data reporting.
  • Mental Health First Aid or wellbeing accreditation.
