The Role – Global Membership Director
We are seeking a passionate and strategic Global Membership Director to lead the development and delivery of a world-class membership experience. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with senior leadership and regional offices, the successful candidate will drive global membership acquisition, retention, engagement, and value delivery. This is a senior leadership position, ideal for a data-informed, collaborative professional with deep experience in scaling and optimising global membership strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Growth & Strategy
Develop and implement a global strategy to acquire, retain, and grow membership across multiple regions
Lead and motivate a multicultural team to exceed key performance indicators and growth targets
Analyse trends and data to identify market opportunities
Member Engagement & Value
Design and oversee initiatives that increase member satisfaction and foster community
Ensure consistent and high-quality delivery of member benefits, tailored to regional needs
Oversee all aspects of member communications and service experience
Data & Insight
Use CRM and analytics tools to track behaviours, identify trends, and drive strategic decisions
Report on key membership metrics and provide insights to senior stakeholders
Collaboration & Advocacy
Work cross-functionally with teams across marketing, product, events, partnerships, and technology
Represent the voice of the member in key internal discussions
Operations & Budget Management
Manage membership budget, forecasts, and ROI
Lead the adoption of new systems and processes to improve membership operations
Person Specification
8–10+ years of experience in membership management or community engagement in a global, multicultural setting
Proven track record of scaling membership programs and improving member value
Strong leadership, team development, and stakeholder engagement skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or similar
Experience using CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce) and digital engagement strategies
Exceptional communication, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities
Experience working in or with non-profit organisations, associations, or SaaS platforms is desirable
Multilingual capabilities or international experience a plus
