A national environmental charity is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to provide stability and leadership during a period of team transition. The organisation has diverse income streams, a strong membership base and a respected national profile. This role will suit someone confident managing day-to-day finance operations while improving processes, controls and reporting.

The Role

  • Lead month-end, journals, reconciliations and management accounts.
  • Maintain continuity across payroll, payments, VAT, Gift Aid and membership income.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for departmental leads.
  • Resolve TB/reconciliation issues and ensure audit readiness.
  • Line manage a small finance team and act as a business partner across the charity.
  • Strengthen systems and controls, including optimisation of Business Central.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong experience across management accounts, statutory reporting and compliance.
  • Confident user of Business Central or similar finance systems.
  • Skilled in leading small teams and supporting non-finance colleagues.
  • Highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable working independently.
  • Part-qualified, qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Charity sector experience (SORP, grants, restricted funds) desirable.
