The Opportunity

Our client is one of the UK's leading hospitality trade associations, representing thousands of businesses across the hospitality and leisure sector, including hotels, pubs, bars, restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, visitor attractions, contract caterers, leisure venues, nightclubs and hospitality suppliers. They are looking for a commercially driven Head of Membership to lead membership growth, inspire an established team and build relationships across one of the UK's most exciting industries. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious sales or business development professional from the hospitality sector who wants to step into a broader commercial leadership role while continuing to support and champion the industry.

If you've built relationships, generated new business or managed key accounts selling into hotels, pubs, hospitality groups, visitor attractions, contract catering businesses, restaurants, cafés or other leisure businesses, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

The Role

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will lead the association's membership growth strategy, helping attract new hospitality businesses while ensuring existing members continue to receive exceptional value. You'll work closely with colleagues across marketing, policy, events and communications to promote membership, strengthen the association's commercial offering and represent the organisation throughout the hospitality sector. This is a highly visible role where you'll regularly meet senior decision-makers from across the hospitality industry, attend industry events and become a recognised ambassador for the sector.

About You

We're particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience selling into or working within the hospitality, foodservice or leisure sectors.

Person Specification:

  • Proven success in business development, membership sales, account management or commercial sales.
  • Experience selling into the hospitality, leisure or foodservice sectors would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong network across hospitality or the ability to quickly build credibility within the sector.
  • Experience leading, motivating or mentoring a team.
  • Excellent relationship-building, networking and presentation skills.
  • Commercially driven with a track record of achieving growth targets.
  • Confident using CRM systems and managing sales pipelines.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • Passionate about supporting and promoting the hospitality industry.
