MEM Northampton is recruiting a Punch - Paint Line Operative for Afternoon Shifts to join our team based in Northampton. As a member of the Sheet Metal department team, working on the 1400-2200 shift (38 hours/week) Monday to Friday, you will be responsible for:
- Punching products using CNC punch presses.
- Maintaining upkeep of machines, setting of machines and tools.
- Manually loading parts of machinery (using lifting/magnetic/suction equipment where necessary).
- Breaking out punched parts of steel using appropriate equipment.
- Checking quality of parts before/after process.
- Palletising/moving product using pump/stacker trucks.
- Manually loading/unloading parts onto/off the paint line, cleaning and fettling using manual grinders.
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
Requirements:
- Knowledge/use of punch machines is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to read drawings.
- Team player with a positive can-do attitude.
- Practical, hands-on.
- Good communication skills.
- Willing to work flexibly.
- Attention to good housekeeping.
Physical Demands:
A manual environment, lifting heavy equipment with magnetic hoists and chain/strap hoists.
