We are looking for a Vehicle Paint Technician for our busy client at Leeds site. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate who has previous experience in a similar role and is looking for a new, exciting challenge.
Salary: Β£19.44 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday / 7 am-5 pm (1 h break) plus 1 in 4 Saturdays
Main purpose of the job: Within this role, you will be working as a part of an experienced bodyshop team, ensuring our vehicles are finished to the highest standard for our customers, under the support and guidance of the supervisor and Bodyshop Manager.
Main responsibilities:
- Paint preparation of the vehicle masking and prepping if required
- Spray painting required vehicles using water based paints
- Checking paint colour and preparing spray out cards to ensure a perfect match
- Cleaning up work area and making sure that equipment is working correctly
- Ensuring that there are no defects on the prepared panels
- Carrying out repairs to restore vehicles to their original condition in line with approved methods
- Supporting bodyshop team within other departments if required
- Training bodyshop trainee staff
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Bodyshop Technician / Paint Technician
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willing to support junior techs and offer support/expertise when needed
- You will be passionate to work within the motor industry and take pride in your work, to the highest standards of work set by customers
- You will need to work independently on vehicles and have experience to make decisions when required
- Excellent attention to detail
