You must have reliable transportation as this location is not accessible via public transportation such as Metro Access, Metro Bus, or Rail. This position is located in Cheltenham, MD at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC). The core working hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The pay rate is $17.74 per hour. This position requires a criminal background check, drug screening, and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep and mop hallways, stairs, and offices.
- Empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash properly.
- Dust horizontal surfaces.
- Empty and wash ashtrays.
- Clean bathrooms.
- Wax and buff floors with prescribed buffers.
- Clean glass and windows.
- Wash walls and other vertical surfaces.
- Sweep and clear snow from outside steps and sidewalks.
- Polish kick panels, doorknobs, and other fixtures.
- Strip and wax floors.
- Vacuum rugs.
- Mix cleaning solutions.
- Maintain issued equipment.
- Notify supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Custodial Foreman.
Physical Qualifications
- Must be able to stand 80% of the work time, walk 15%, and sit 5%.
- Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle.
- These skills are necessary for using ladders and stairs, and cleaning various areas.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
- Must have good vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish colours for safety and chemical identification.
Qualifications
- Minimum of six months of experience.
- Ability to learn and perform essential functions.
- Must pass security clearance for designated contracts.
