If so, we want you to join our team as Strategic Lead – Supporting Communities.
This is a key role in a forward‑thinking council that punches above its weight and continues to deliver for its communities despite increasing financial pressures. We are looking for someone who can bring fresh thinking, lead through complexity and wear multiple hats – all while staying grounded in humanity. The right person will be able to innovate and drive improvement, make tough decisions when needed, and still hold on to the compassion and empathy that sit at the heart of excellent community leadership.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the Melton Borough Council Communities team. This role reports directly to the Assistant Director for Customer and Communities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the Housing Options and Homelessness team.
- Ensure statutory compliance and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Manage the housing register system and Choice Based Lettings service.
- Develop creative solutions to prevent homelessness and reduce reliance on temporary accommodation.
- Champion partnership working across agencies and stakeholders.
- Take the lead on domestic abuse housing responses and resettlement programmes.
The post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS).
