You'll play a key role in planning and delivering a wide range of internal and external communications campaigns, promoting council services, supporting engagement activities and helping keep our communities informed.

You will be a strong team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues, partners and stakeholders, whilst also being confident to work independently. We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills, who is able to deliver high-quality work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.

A high level of digital literacy and a good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications are essential, alongside the ability to create engaging content for a range of channels, including social media, websites and internal communications. Graphic design, photography, video creation or video editing skills would be highly desirable. This opportunity would be ideal for a creative and enthusiastic individual with previous experience of planning and delivering communications and engagement activities. You will have a passion to continuously improve the services we provide to our communities and help our residents stay informed, engaged and connected to the council.

We offer flexible and hybrid working, built on trust. Our standard week is 37 hours, and we simply ask that service needs are met. Balance matters. We encourage you to switch off and recharge, with up to 30 days’ annual leave, bank holidays, and three extra days at Christmas. You can also buy additional leave if you choose.

We Care is one of our core values. As a Healthy Workplace, we support your wellbeing through a range of activities and a confidential Employee Assistance Programme. We help you plan for the future with the excellent Local Government Pension Scheme, financial planning workshops, career development opportunities.
