Build More Than Just Structures—Build Careers! Melrose School are looking to recruit a full time DT teacher with a specialism in product design, engineering or woodwork to deliver an exciting and practical curriculum for our pupils! This isn't just a classroom role; it’s an opportunity to shape the next generation of industry professionals within an environment designed specifically for BTEC delivery.
The role: This is a new full time vacancy with scope to evolve and meet the needs of young people across Melbury College. You will be based at the DNAC Site on Bond Road, Mitcham. A significant part of the role will be delivery of BTEC Level 1 Construction course to Key Stage 4 pupils on role with Melrose School & Whatley Campus. Our ambition is to develop the provision so we can deliver the programme to pupils from other sites across Melbury College.
Our setting: Melbury College is a partnership that includes Melrose School, Primary and Secondary Campuses (Special School for pupils with SEMH), Canterbury Campus (Secondary PRU), Lavender Campus (Medical) and Whatley Campus (ASD/ SpLD). All of our pupils have an EHCP and have historically experienced significant barriers to learning in mainstream education. At Key Stage 4, we offer pupils a vocational pathway alongside their GCSEs. Pupils select this based on their career aspirations.
You will need to be a resilient and dynamic teacher who has a strong commitment to personalized learning and who can promote a positive school culture. If you are passionate about unlocking the potential for young people, we would love to hear from you!
If you are interested in learning more, we welcome tours and telephone calls from prospective candidates.
